Equine Assisted Therapy

Ground-based psychotherapy with horses at 7 Oaks, in partnership with k-Equine. No riding required.

What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is ground-based therapy with horses. There is no riding, and no horse experience is needed. Sessions are led by a licensed mental health therapist and an equine specialist.

Horses are highly sensitive, social animals. Working alongside them can help people notice patterns, build trust, and practice new ways of relating—outside a traditional office.

At 7 Oaks with k-Equine

7 Oaks Stables partners with k-Equine so clients can meet for sessions here at the barn in Mableton.

Who it’s for

Adults (18+) can use EAP as stand-alone therapy or alongside other care. Adolescents (roughly 6th–12th grade) work with k-Equine while keeping a primary therapist.

How sessions work

Individual sessions are about 50 minutes. Many people plan a short series (often around 8–12 sessions). Pricing and intake are handled by k-Equine.
